Dinner Picker Support

Get help

Contact Seth Parsons at sethparsons6@icloud.com. In Dinner Picker, open Settings → Contact developer to prepare a support email. The app shows the included device and operating-system details, and you can edit them before sending. Please do not email passwords or Apple account credentials.

Getting started

Save a meal, add its ingredients, and select it for your shopping trip. The shopping list updates automatically. Open Planner to schedule meals. Replay the walkthrough from Settings → Show tutorial.

Shared kitchens

Each participant needs their own iCloud account. The kitchen owner opens Settings → Share or manage household and sends an invitation. The other person accepts it in Dinner Picker. If recipes seem different, check Settings → Kitchen to make sure both people have selected the same kitchen. Allow time for iCloud updates and check the iCloud status in Settings.

Backups and restoring

Use Settings → Export kitchen backup to keep a separate copy. Importing a supported backup creates another kitchen and preserves existing kitchens. Keep copies somewhere you control, such as Files or iCloud Drive.

Updating from the original Dinner Picker

Update the installed app without deleting it first. The new version looks for the original DinnerPickerData.plist saved inside the app on that device. It preserves a recovery copy and imports the recipes into My original kitchen. When asked, enter how many people a batch of your original recipes served; this preserves the saved ingredient amounts. A Dropbox copy may contain newer information than the old local file; the new app does not download old Dropbox data.

Removing a kitchen

Open Settings → Manage kitchens. Owners can delete their kitchen; invited participants can leave a shared kitchen. Export a backup first if you want to keep an independent copy. Keep at least one kitchen; create a new empty kitchen before removing your last one.
