Tank Mate Support

Questions or a problem with Tank Mate? Email sethparsons6@icloud.com. Include your app version, iPhone or iPad model, iOS version, and a brief description of what happened. Share screenshots or aquarium data only if you are comfortable doing so; the app does not automatically attach records to support messages.

Updating from the original app

Original Tank Mate data migrates automatically when available. You do not need to manually import a file to upgrade. If your records appear to be missing, contact support before deleting the app or its iCloud data.

iCloud backup and sync

Open Settings → iCloud backup & sync to check the current status. Records save on your device first. Offline changes wait until a connection returns. If iCloud storage is full, free space in your iCloud account and try syncing again. Turning sync off keeps existing local and cloud records.

Exporting a separate backup

Open Settings → Data & backups → Export a backup, then choose a location in Files. New backup packages include your current records and photos and support large photo collections. Import previews a backup before adding independently identified copies; it keeps your existing records. Older Tank Mate JSON backups are also supported.

Aquarium and inhabitant photos

Open an aquarium and tap its photo or photo control to add or change its picture. Tapping an aquarium card on the main list opens that aquarium. Inhabitants can have their own photos and dated photo observations.

Care reminders

Enable notifications when setting up care reminders. If alerts do not appear, check Tank Mate's notification permissions and your device's Focus settings. Confirm the reminder is enabled and scheduled for a future time.

Compatibility notices

Compatibility notices cover researched concerns for supported species and are advisory. An unflagged combination is not a guarantee of compatibility. Review the needs of your animals and aquarium before adding inhabitants.
